Anaesthesia and Analgesia Service Facilities

Canine Internal Medicine Facilities

  • Dogs will be housed in one of four wards - two routine wards for medical and surgical patients, an ICU facility for patients with more severe illnesses or an isolation facility if suffering from an infectious disease. We have a variety of kennel sizes, varying from walk in kennels for larger breeds to smaller kennels so that little dogs can feel safe and secure
  • State-of-the-art kennels made of safety glass, which are warmer than steel kennels and without noisy metal doors
  • Outdoor run facilities to exercise dogs for toileting purposes, as well as bathing facilities should these be required
  • Comprehensive in-house laboratory for quick results around the clock
  • Specialised systems for administration of fluids and medications used in human hospitals
  • Digital radiography, fluoroscopy and ultrasonography
  • Wide range of endoscopes to access the respiratory, gastrointestinal and urinary systems

Feline Internal Medicine Facilities

  • Separate waiting room for cats: to ensure their anxiety is reduced by not encountering barking dogs
  • Separate consulting room for cats: to ensure that they are not scared by the smell of dogs that might have been in the consulting room before them
  • Separate ward for cats: this ensures a peaceful environment where they can relax to cat-friendly music
  • State-of-the-art kennels made of safety glass, which are warmer than steel kennels and without noisy metal doors. The kennels have partitioned toileting areas for privacy and hiding and perching facilities are provided
  • Cat appropriate equipment: e.g. small weighing scales, quiet clippers, small volume blood tubes, direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy, direct and indirect blood pressure monitoring, continuous blood glucose monitoring

Interventional Radiology Facilities

  • C-arm fluoroscopy (video X-ray) allows real time visualisation of the procedure and is used for the majority of interventional radiology cases
  • State-of-the-art diode laser for internal procedures such as laser ablation of ectopic ureters
  • Wide range of endoscopes to access the respiratory, gastrointestinal and urinary systems
  • GE Logiq E10 ultrasound machine, 64 slice CT scanner and visiting MRI
  • Specialist guide wires, catheters, stents and introducers
  • Highly trained specialists with clinical expertise in interventional radiology

Neurology Service Facilities

  • High field MRI scanner on site each week
  • C-arm fluoroscopy (video X-ray) allowing real time visualisation of the procedure

  • Dedicated surgical ward for dogs and a completely separate ward for cats

Orthopaedics Service Facilities
