Nicola Waddell

Nicola started working in practice as an assistant in 2007. She went on to attend Edinburgh’s Telford College in 2010 to obtain her veterinary nursing qualification.

After qualifying, Nicola moved to a permanent role working in the medicine department at a busy referrals practice in Glasgow. During her time there, Nicola obtained her Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care (CertVNECC).

After five years Nicola made a move back to a first opinion practice in Livingston where she stayed for three years.

Deciding that referral level nursing is what she enjoys most, she joined the team at Veterinary Specialists Scotland in November 2020. She started with us as a rotating nurse, progressing to workflow coordinator and has now progressed onto lead neurology nurse.

During her down time, Nicola spends time with her young family, her two dogs Oakley and Mabel, and her horse Foster.
