Sammy Morrison

Student Veterinary Nurse

Sammy joined VSS in September 2020 as a Veterinary Care Assistant, and has now progressed to Student Veterinary Nurse.

Sammy has always had a love of both domestic and exotic animals and it’s been her ambition from a young age to work in animal care. She studied Wildlife Conservation with Zoo Biology BSc at Salford University and spent her free time volunteering at a local dog shelter, walking and socialising the dogs. After graduating from university in 2014 she moved to Scotland (Livingston) to undertake a year-long internship at a zoo (Five Sisters Zoo) where she later became a zookeeper. Working at the zoo helped Sammy gain experience working with veterinary staff and inspired her to want to train and work in a veterinary environment.

To enable her to use her transferable animal care skills in a veterinary setting she also enrolled onto a SCQF Veterinary Terminology online course.

Sammy enjoys learning from some of the best in the veterinary field and working within a supportive, stimulating and enjoyable work environment.

Sammy has four pet rabbits called Boris, Bonnie, Britney and Bella who keep her busy when she’s not working.
