Sammy Morrison

Sammy joined VSS in September 2020 as a Veterinary Care Assistant, then started her training as a Student Veterinary Nurse in September 2023 and is aiming to qualify in 2026.

Before joining VSS, Sammy studied at the University of Salford for her degree in Wildlife Conservation with Zoo Biology BSc and then worked as a zookeeper for around five years where she gained lots of experience looking after a huge range of animals, from meerkats to monkeys. To enable her to use her transferable animal care skills in a veterinary setting she enrolled onto a SCQF Veterinary Terminology online course before applying for a VCA role.

Sammy enjoys learning from the knowledgeable, experienced, and supportive team at VSS and is excited what the future holds as she develops her skills as a veterinary nurse.

Sammy has three pet rabbits called Cookie, Chip and Chewie, and two cats called Bear and Tank, who keep her busy when she’s not at work.
