Alisha Mackinnon

Alisha qualified from Napier University in 2013 with a 1st class Honours Degree and won the University Medal. She worked in general practice for just under 10 years before making the move to referral nursing at VSS in May 2023. She has a qualification in the nursing of exotic species and wildlife, is a clinical coach for students and has been a Head Nurse, Clinical Lead and assisted with varied areas of practice management. She has experience in all areas of nursing and started at VSS as a multi-disciplinary nurse and is now an inpatient care nurse. She is specifically interested in patient care to include pain management, stress reduction and behavioural enrichment for hospitalised patients.
In her spare time, Alisha loves eating out at restaurants while catching up with friends, going to gigs of varying music choice and when she’s avoiding the 10 projects she’s started all at once, she plays too much XBox!
