Alisha Mackinnon

RVN

Alisha qualified from Napier University in 2013 with a 1st class Honours Degree and won the University Medal. She worked in general practice for just under 10 years before making the move to referral nursing at VSS in May 2023. She has a qualification in the nursing of exotic species and wildlife, is a clinical coach for students and has been a Head Nurse, Clinical Lead and assisted with varied areas of practice management. She has experience in all areas of nursing but is specifically interested in patient care to include pain management, stress reduction and behavioural enrichment for hospitalised patients.

 

In her spare time, Alisha can be found somewhere in a loch on a paddleboard or swimming, she also enjoys bouldering/rock climbing, hillwalking, going to the gym and the occasional ‘couch potato’ day on the sofa! She has two gerbils at home currently but previously has owned cats, dogs, guinea pigs, chinchillas and hamsters.
